La Garde Freinet is a very popular village both for year round living and for holidays. It is twenty minutes drive from the Le Luc motorway exit.

In the summer it has the advantage of cooler temperatures at night than the coast. It is a haven of peace well away from the crowds who visit St Tropez. The beaches are only 30 minutes drive away even in high season. In winter there is a lively expatriate community without whom probably there would not be the two butchers, two bakers and many other shops and restaurants open year round.
